D.J.O.= De Jonge Onderzoekers. A technical youthclub we attended in Nijmegen. We build electrical circuits under guidance of volunteers or we found diagrams in books and the magazine “Electuur”.So we also soldered circuits that made sound! Electronic parts we got out of broken equipment we collected door to door of found in the trash. We had no resources for mixing or editing, every generator was soldered straight onto the recorder inputs. Nothing was rehearsed , tested at most.
De Radiola Impvisatiesalon
Was a bi-weekly program on VPRO radio in the Netherlands on “Hilversum 4” 16:00-18:00, from 1980-1984, hosted by radio-producer, artist, writer, initiator and general wizard Willem de Ridder. It played a central role in the mailart, hometaping, cassette-scene of those days. People could send in a tape with anything on it,. After a short introduction it was played about 5 minutes on national radio.
