BLANKETS AND PILLARS.

There,s something curious about listening to sounds and musical efforts coming from rehearsalspaces. The “step-in point” of the musicians is high, slightly pretentious, often to the point, thematic, repeating around a certain theme or pattern.
His album was initially based on fieldrecordings in the vicinity of rehearsalspaces and/or fieldrecordings of my own musical efforts, (recordings of my recordings so to say)
Working myself deeper into the process, a compository movement developed of stepping in and out of musical themes.
There are two lengthy field and livesessions ( TUNE 2&1) , a bridging track ( MESH 3) , and two dense synthtracks (MESH 2&1),both balancing on openness and strong themes.
An album with lots of variation, space and surprises.
Fun and pretty light to produce, in contrast to some earlier albums.
Recorded between spring and fall 2020 in Arnhem ,the Netherlands at various locations and studios.
Quinten Dierick: recordings, tapework, synth, vocals, percussion, various.

You hear the birds….they just sing, don,t care what the hell.
